After a brief break, it was red carpet time again in Hollywood at the 2024 Grammy Awards!
Music’s biggest night was held at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on Sunday starting at 8 p.m. EST. Trevor Noah once again hosted the Recording Academy festivities, with nominees including SZA, Taylor Swift and Jon Batiste showing up in their finest.
The fun actually began much earlier, though, with a pre-show premiere ceremony where the majority of the day’s Grammys were awarded.
PEOPLE had a look at those early winners — and all the fashion fun as the stars walked the red carpet. We’re also recapping all the can’t-miss performances and memorable acceptance speeches.
Taylor Swift Wins Album of the Year for Midnights — Her Fourth Album of the Year Win
Taylor Swift just made history — she’s the first person to ever win album of the year four times, this instance for Midnights.
Swift took the stage with her collaborators including Lana Del Rey and Jack Antonoff.
“Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to do what I love so much,” said Swift. “Mind blown!”

Celine Dion Makes Surprise Appearance at the 2024 Grammys
Céline Dion has only recently returned to the spotlight after three and a half years after being diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, which is a rare and incurable neurological disease that can cause debilitating muscle spasms and affects the central nervous system, specifically the brain and spinal cord. And now, she’s back on the Grammys stage.
Dion presented the album of the year award, and received a standing ovation when she walked out.
“When I say that I’m happy to be here, I really mean it from my heart,” said Dion. She added, “Those who have been blessed enough here at the Grammy Awards must never take for granted the tremendous love and joy that music brings to our lives and to people all around the world.”

The 2024 Best New Artist Is Victoria Monét

“On My Mama” singer Victoria Monét was honored as the best new artist at the 2024 Grammy Awards, and used her acceptance speech to reflect on her journey in Hollywood.
Monét, who was nominated in seven categories at the 66th Grammys, also delivered a message to “everybody who has a dream.” Said Monét, “I want you to look at this as an example . . . this award was a 15-year pursuit.”

Travis Scott smashed some folding chairs to bits as flames and super-sized speakers surrounded him during his 2024 Grammys performance.
The rapper performed three of his songs on the Crypto.com Arena stage: “MY EYES,” “I KNOW ?” and “FE!N.”
Blue Ivy Takes the Stage with Dad JAY-Z to Accept Dr. Dre Global Impact Award

JAY-Z accepted the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award during Sunday’s show, and had his daughter Blue Ivy by his side for his big moment.
During the acceptance speech, JAY-Z called out the Grammys for past snubs of his wife Beyoncé’s music.
“She has more Grammys than everyone and never won album of the year – that doesn’t work,” said the rapper, adding, “When I get nervous, I tell the truth.”
Ultimately, JAY-Z said he was “honored” to accept the award and challenged viewers to “keep showing up . . . until they give you all those accolades you feel you deserve.”

Stevie Wonder, Fantasia Barrino, Annie Lennox and Jon Batiste Perform During In Memoriam

Stevie Wonder paid tribute to the late Tony Bennett in an emotional duet to “For Once in My Life,” done with Wonder singing live alongside video footage of Bennett. Bennett died at age 96 in July 2023.
Wonder then continued to perform for the Grammys In Memoriam segment. He segued into “The Best Is Yet to Come” before the lights faded out and Annie Lennox appeared onstage to sing “Nothing Compares 2 U” in tribute to the late Sinéad O’Connor.
As Lennox sang, photos of more of the artists we lost in 2023 and early 2024 appeared on the screen.
Lenny Kravitz then stepped out to honor “trusted mentor and believer” Clarence Avant, a renowned music executive. Kravitz introduced Jon Batiste, who sang two of Bill Withers’ iconic songs: “Lean on Me” and “Ain’t No Sunshine.”
Batiste was joined onstage by additional performers to sing gospel song “Optimistic.”

The In Memoriam celebrations continued with an appearance by Oprah Winfrey, who honored “our forever goddess of rock and roll” Tina Turner. Said Winfrey: “She was a special kind of role model.”
Fantasia Barrino appeared dressed in full Turner garb — a sequined, glittering fringe dress and sparkly booties — to sing “Proud Mary.”
SZA Accepts Best R&B Song, Says “You Don’t Really Understand, I Came Really, Really Far”
While it felt “very fake” to SZA, her 2024 best R&B Grammy win was the real deal.
The songstress got emotional as she accepted the award, telling the crowd of her fellow musicians, “You don’t really understand, I came really, really far.”

“I can’t believe this is happening,” said SZA. “I’m not an attractive crier,” she admitted before exiting the stage with her new trophy.

Shortly after snagging her first-ever Grammy, Miley Cyrus performed the honored track — and even paused to ask the audience, “Why are you acting like you don’t know this song?”
Cyrus commanded the stage in a sparkling, bejeweled mini dress and high heels — strutting around much like iconic performer Tina Turner did.

Billie Eilish Delivers Emotional Performance of Barbie Song “What Was I Made For?”
“When did it end, all the enjoyment?” Eilish sang in an emotional performance of her Barbie soundtrack song “What Was I Made For?” during the Sunday broadcast.
Eilish was accompanied by her brother Finneas on piano for the performance, as well as strings players. She sang dressed in a Barbie doll inspired ensemble — Poodle Parade from 1965 — and sat on a single stool throughout her time onstage.

Cyrus told an anecdote about a child catching a butterfly to describe her feelings as she won the best pop solo performance honor.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama won the 2024 Grammy for best audio book, narration, and storytelling recording for The Light We Carry: Overcoming In Uncertain Times. She previously won a Grammy for her memoir Becoming.
She’s not the only Grammy-winner in the family. Former President Barack Obama is the owner of two Grammys, as well.

Eagle-eyed Swifties are taking notice of some strange things happening on Taylor Swift‘s social media platforms and website ahead of her Grammys appearance.
On Sunday, Swift’s website disappeared, only showing an error code when fans navigated to taylorswift.com. The error code seemingly spells “red herring” when the letters are rearranged.
Further, Swift changed her profile picture from color to black and white.
When tied together, fans think it means Swift will be announcing that her next album remake will be Reputation (Taylor’s Version).
