Miss NO: Can you tell us about the inspiration behind your fashion line, Sire711, and what motivated you to start it?
Eris: The inspiration behind Sire711 comes from my love for Family and Fashion. Growing up, I was always fascinated by how fashion can be a form of self-expression. I started Sire711 to create unique pieces that allow people to showcase their individuality and creativity. My name, Sire 711, has a deep personal significance. “Sire” spelled backwards is “Eris.” Additionally, the definition of “sire” refers to a significant male figure. For me, that figure is my grandfather, who passed away on July 11th. The date 7/11 is a tribute to him.
Miss NO: What does the DMV (DC/Maryland/Virginia) area mean to you personally and how does it influence your designs?
Eris: The DMV area is home for me. It’s a vibrant, diverse community with a rich cultural history, and it greatly influences my designs. I sketch what I see daily—the crop tops, cutouts, and bows are common sights in DC. My goal is to reflect the spirit and energy of the DMV in every piece I create.

Miss NO: You mentioned wanting to spotlight the positive aspects of the DMV area through your Teen Takeover shoot. Can you elaborate on why this was important to you?
Eris: It’s important to me to showcase the positive aspects of the DMV because it’s often overshadowed by negative stereotypes and activities that happen daily. By highlighting the talent, creativity, and resilience of young people in the area, I want to change the narrative and show the world the vibrant, inspiring community that I know and love.
Miss NO: Could you share a bit about your creative process when designing for Sire711? How do you bring your ideas to life?
Eris: My creative process starts with brainstorming and sketching out ideas. I draw inspiration from various sources, including music, street art, and nature. Once I have a concept, I select fabrics and materials that bring my vision to life. I then create prototypes, refine the designs, and work closely over a few days to perfect each piece.
Miss NO: What challenges have you faced as a young designer, and how have you overcome them?
Eris: As a young designer, gaining credibility and breaking into the fashion industry has been challenging. I’ve faced skepticism due to my age, but I am overcoming these challenges by staying persistent, continuously improving my skills, and letting my work speak for itself. Building a supportive network of mentors and peers has also been crucial.
Miss NO: Your shoot featured all teen models, photographers, and makeup artists from the DMV area. How did you select your team, and what was it like working with fellow young creatives?
Eris: I selected my team through social media and other events. I wanted to work with young creatives who share my passion for fashion and the DMV. Working with them was incredibly rewarding. We all brought fresh ideas and energy to the shoot, and it was a great collaborative experience.

Miss NO: What message or feeling do you hope people get when they see your designs on the cover of Jenleeion Magazine?
Eris: I hope people feel inspired and empowered when they see my designs. I want them to see that fashion can be both innovative and accessible, and that young people have the power to create meaningful art. My designs aim to celebrate individuality and the positive aspects of our community.
Miss NO: Looking ahead, what are your aspirations for the future of Sire711? Are there any upcoming projects or collaborations you’re excited about?
Eris: Looking ahead, I hope to expand Sire711 into a global brand while staying true to my roots in the DMV. I’m excited about upcoming collaborations with designers, and I’m working on a new collection that will push me to the next level. My goal is to continue creating unique, high-quality fashion that resonates with people everywhere.
