What inspired “Meet the Threatt’s”?

Meet the Threatt’s was inspired by my two-time separation from my husband over two years. Our struggles and eventual reconciliation, after initially failing to do the necessary work to improve our relationship, made me realize that our story, though unique, was also very relatable. By sharing our journey on our reality show, I hope to inspire others not to give up on their marriages during tough times. The show aims to promote effective communication, perseverance in relationships, and the importance of putting God first. Additionally, Meet the Threatt’s seeks to inspire stronger blended families, positive relationships, and explore the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.

What are some of the values and principles that guide you in your personal and professional life, and how do they reflect in your show and your brand?

Honesty is paramount to me; I believe that not being honest can hurt others more. This is evident in our show, where we have difficult conversations and share our true feelings. Respecting each other and processing hurtful truths are essential for genuine communication. I also value time and believe that timeliness represents professionalism and commitment. My dedication to youth, family, and friendships is reflected in my volunteer work and our show, emphasizing the importance of relationships and community support.

How do you balance your personal and professional responsibilities?

Balancing personal and professional responsibilities involves self-care, organization, and utilizing my support staff. Regular exercise, monthly massages, and taking time to regroup and re-energize are crucial for managing stress and maintaining balance. Although some days are more challenging than others, these practices help me navigate the demands of working with individuals with mental health issues, managing employees, and overseeing daily operations.

How do you define women’s empowerment, and what are some of the ways you promote it through your show and your other ventures?

Women’s empowerment means knowing what you want, understanding the obstacles, and persevering regardless. It requires courage, strength, and tenacity. I promote women’s empowerment by being an entrepreneur, helping other women achieve their goals, and through my weekly podcast, where we uplift and encourage women to be their best selves.

What are some of the lessons you learned from your journey as a woman of color in the entertainment industry, and what advice would you give to other aspiring women who want to follow your footsteps?

I have learned to always bet on myself and believe in my capabilities. Being my authentic self and embracing vulnerability as a strength has been crucial. My advice to aspiring women is to know themselves, be confident in their strengths, and not let insecurities define them.

What do you want your legacy to be?

I want my legacy to be that of an authentic, kind, nurturing, and generous woman who loves God, her family, and friends. A woman who motivates, encourages, and inspires others to be their best selves, and who lives life with wit, fun, and a deep appreciation for every moment.
