Can you introduce yourself and your business?

I’m Donte Threatt, 45. I’m the owner of Threatt Counseling and Behavioral Health Transportation, where we provide private and medical transportation in the community. I attend Metropolitan Baptist Church where I help on the media ministry. I am a God-fearing man; without His grace and mercy, I don’t know where I would be. I am active in my children’s lives, whom I have by marriage. Golf is the sport I play in my spare time, which is weekly, LOL! I like to motivate others and inspire them to find purpose. I encourage them to live a triple threat lifestyle: spiritually, mentally, and financially.

What inspired “Meet the Threatts”?

“Meet the Threatts” was inspired by myself, my wife, my brother, and his ex-wife a few years ago. Things and situations changed, which left me and Charita to move forward. After being separated a few times, we decided to tell our story to the world, all while reconciling and navigating through our businesses.

What principles do you bring to the show?

I value life as a whole; it’s a blessing waking up every morning and figuring this thing called life out. The principles I bring forth to the show are taking care of family, being there for the people you love and who love you, helping others when you can, and pushing them to be the best version of themselves. Also, being transparent and taking accountability for mistakes and wrongdoings.

How do you balance personal and business life as an entrepreneur?

Balancing personal and business life is a must as an entrepreneur. Always take care of business, do what needs to be done, no shortcuts. But also leave business at the office. I take the personal time I need to have a clear and stress-free mindset to make great business decisions. Golf is an outlet to get away from the daily hustle. I also travel monthly if I can.

What is your view on empowerment?

Empowerment is essential for everyone. If you or your life is not inspiring or motivating others, then it’s time to reevaluate. In the show, I will promote my triple threat lifestyle to encourage people to find their purpose and understand the power of the mindset.

What advice do you have for navigating the entertainment industry?

The entertainment industry can be real entertaining, so don’t get caught up in any gimmicks. Stay focused and stay the course. Always deal in what’s right and what’s wrong. Don’t let the business change who you are—the core being of yourself. Have a “Why” … why are you doing what you’re doing, and always get back to that “Why”.

What legacy do you want to leave?

I want my legacy to be a positive and motivating one. I want people to look at what I’m doing and have accomplished, and say, “Wow, you inspired me to be great, to hustle hard, and be a better individual.” Grind hard, Praise God!
