Jasmyn Cook | Color: Green

Before we dive into this incredible shoot, we’d love to know more about you! What’s your background, and what led you into the world of fashion and modeling?

I was introduced to the world of fashion and modeling at 14 years old through a Women’s Empowerment club at my high school. The focus of the club was to empower young women through fashion and modeling. We learned about developing a personal brand, dressing for our body types, and most importantly, how to love ourselves. At the end of the year, we put on a fashion show that reflected our growth and everything we had learned throughout the journey.

If you had to sum yourself up in just five words, what would they be and why?

A daughter of the King.

It took years of trying to find my identity in other things to realize that my faith in God and belief in Jesus is truly the foundation of who I am and how I operate. I aim to make sure that everything I do is filtered through my faith.

What was your reaction when you first heard about the monochromatic theme for this shoot?

I was really excited about the concept! I love a challenge and being a part of a clear and powerful vision.

This editorial is bold, avant-garde, and visually striking. Did the concept challenge or excite you as a model?

It was incredibly exciting. Concepts like these are exactly why I wanted to enter the industry in the first place. The challenges are what make the final results so rewarding.

How did your assigned color influence your mood, energy, and expression during the shoot?

My assigned color was green, which is often associated with money or even greed. To embody a quiet greed, there needs to be an underlying arrogance. So during the shoot, I focused on expressing that subtle, boss-like confidence—the kind that doesn’t need to shout, but commands presence.

Monochromatic fashion often makes a strong statement. What message do you think this cover shoot conveys?

This shoot shows the beauty of living boldly.

Whether it’s individuality, unity in diversity, or creative expression, what do you hope viewers take away from this imagery?

I hope viewers are inspired by the richness that comes from living in color. Living in color means living as your true self—boldly and fully. Color represents emotion, vibrancy, and freedom. I want people to see that there is beauty in full emotional expression, and to feel encouraged to step out of dullness and into a vibrant, authentic life.

From makeup transformation to embodying a fully monochrome aesthetic, what stood out to you most about this experience?

What stood out the most was the teamwork—creative individuals coming together to bring one vision to life. From the models to the beauty team, photography, and more, it was inspiring to see such collaboration result in something so cohesive and stunning.

If you could give one piece of guidance to the next generation of talent, what would it be?

Acknowledge that everything in life is a choice. We often choose to stay stuck, stay hurt, or not believe in ourselves. We sometimes choose to live a dull life when we were meant for vibrance. You are far more powerful than you give yourself credit for. Your mindset is potent—it will shape your reality. So choose to live a life you love. Because you absolutely can.

When people look back at your work and influence, how do you want to be remembered?

I want to be remembered as someone who helped women love themselves—and in doing so, helped them cultivate better relationships, build thriving careers, and enjoy life more fully.

If you could describe this cover in three words, what would they be?
Bold. Opulent. Vibrant.
