Welcome to the Jenleeion Circle! Can you tell our readers who Shari Ravenell is?
I was born in Baltimore Maryland to Parents who are both in music and ministry. Music has been my place of joy from a very young age. I started singing at the age of three and started my first choir at the age of seven. I started my journey as a worship leader at a very young age. I served as Worship Leader at the City of Refuge Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Noel Jones for many years. I currently serve as Worship Leader at Resurrection Church in Carson, CA, and also I serve as Worship Pastor with my husband at All Nations Worship Assembly in San Bernardino under the leadership of Apostles Sherman and Jaquet Dumas. I desire that my music brings healing to individuals both physically and mentally.

Who are some of your biggest influencers in the industry?
I appreciate many people in the industry and many have shaped my ministry both knowing and unknowingly. A few of my biggest influencers in the industry are Dorinda Clark Cole, Karen Clark Sheard, Vickie Winans, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Judith Christie McAllister, Fred Hammond, Israel to name a few.
Your single “Hark” is such a pretty song, what type of feelings do you want your listeners to get from hearing the single?
The holiday season can be a very difficult time for some people and so I was hoping that hark would bring joy and happiness and get people in the mindset of the season. We were hoping to complete a full EP this year, however, unexpectedly I was diagnosed with laryngitis and was unable to complete the project this year.

What is your favorite holiday? Why?
Well, I think that my birthday is a holiday lol but besides my birthday Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I love everything about it. I love the decorations, I love the songs, I just love the joy that the holiday brings to people. Most of all it’s the time we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
What inspired you to create your business “Wonderfully Made Academy for Young Women”?
I saw a need … and the need was to remind young women that they are beautiful and have been wonderfully made. I know what it’s like to look in the mirror and not like who you see. I’ve had many women both young and old approach me with questions about life and how to navigate through it. I believe that God has given me insight on how to help our women walk in their purpose.

How would you like for your music to impact the world?
The message that I think about is the message of salvation and so I would love for my ministry to mirror that message. I want people to recognize who they are and who they are in Christ. I want them to recognize that they are purpose-driven and that God has placed inside of them everything that they need for them to be successful in life. I want the songs that I sing to encourage, uplift, and also motivate people to want to do better and to live up to their full potential.
