Dear Young Gifted and Black Warrior:

I empower you to allow these words manifested from my mind, to permeate in your heart and spirit. Young Gifted and Black Warrior King, you are a role model for the resiliency factor of life. As a Warrior, you are a conqueror fueled with strength, confidence, and courage. You are nurtured by the spirits of our ancestors, who suffered during the early struggle for justice and peace. Young Black King, remember you are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God.

It was faith that sustained our ancestors, through their many confrontational experiences, as men and women of color. Therefore, it is imperative to keep your hand in God’s unchanging hand.

As you navigate life, identify your purpose and provide H.O.P.E. (Help-Other-People-Excel). Never neglect your responsibilities. Here are a few effective tools for obtaining success; acknowledge God- Jesus is real, concentrate on a positive education, develop a skill, realize you are connected to a village and develop discipline. The Charge and Challenge for your life, is to set attainable goals and accept ownership for their reach, or, lack thereof. Remember, incarceration is avoidable when we make wise thought-provoking decisions. Your mental health is critical. Therapy is ideal synergy for the mind body and spirit. Lastly, maintain pride with consistently presenting the world; the best unashamed and unapologetic version of yourself.
