In my opinion, celebrities should not have to pay for their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame—it honestly takes away from what’s supposed to be an honor. If someone has made a lasting impact on culture, entertainment, and the industry, why should there be a price tag attached to recognition? It feels contradictory. You’re being “honored,” but at the same time, you or your team are expected to cover the cost. For legendary artists, especially someone like Brandy, it raises an important question: shouldn’t true cultural impact be acknowledged without a financial requirement?
