Thank you for chatting with us. We’d love to hear how you got started. How did you first get into Crypto?

Well, I first got knee deep into crypto when I started working at a Crypto Hedge Fund Admin based in Denver. I was offered the position to help set up the NYC office, and, when I got there, then I was informed that I will be in charge of the Crypto Hedge Funds. At that time, I had no idea what it was, so I just treated them as another product. Accounting is accounting anywhere you go, so I used my prior knowledge and experience to make it work.

In college, you studied accounting and business administration. Why did you decide to switch gears?

In college, yes, I received my degree in accounting but I didn’t exactly go the typical corporate accounting route. I went straight into financial services where I worked with Alternative Investments. It was inevitable that I would’ve gotten into this eventually.

Are there any challenges you’ve faced as a woman in Crypto?

Like the hedge fund world, it is still very male dominated. One thing I can say is that you have to be true to self, be strong confident and as a woman we are NOT ALLOWED TO BE MEDIOCRE.

Constantly having to prove yourself does get tiring, but it only makes you have tougher skin and forces them to embrace your presence in the room.

Could you tell me more about your business strategy? How did you know where to start?

Well as far as strategy, investing in digital assets is not all that that different than investing in traditional assets like stocks and bonds. Just like with traditional investing, invest in the crypto market only what you can afford to lose. I would definitely suggestthat you prioritize liquidity, choose the right mix of storage (both hot and cold wallets), invest in what you can afford, and take gains regularly.

I did tons of research before I personally jumped into the market. At the time working at the crypto hedge fund, I said to myself these guys are making bookoo bucks over here!! I need to do what they’redoing. So, I spoke with a few of the clients, and they guided me. I opened up my first wallet, got onto a centralized exchange like Coinbase, and just started dollar cost averaging the top 5 crypto at the time. I was going about it blindly because it was still very newbut I saw the potential. I knew crypto wasn’t going anywhere and I was in it for the long haul.

How do you hope your talks and social media will impact your viewers?

I think they would see me as just an ordinary mom who took a chance on doing something that she loves. It’s funny because this space is so new, it’s like the “wild wild west” right now. Go and put your own little stamp on the world.

Do you have any advice for other people in the space that want to turn their passion into a career?

I would say go for it. There is no time like the present. Be mindful that it takes a lot of work and time like anything else, but is rewarding at the end of the day.
